A letter from Gordy Bryan

Dear Friends:

I am a proud member of the Great Guy Group, a non-profit organization supporting and honoring cancer patients and their families.

My goal is to raise $10,000 to help further the group’s mission to provide funds and programs to cancer patients and their families and to contribute to their commitment of $500,000 towards the completion of the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge of the American Cancer Society at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. The Hope Lodge will provide a warm and caring home away from home for cancer patients and their families free of charge.

Since I was a student athlete at Virginia Tech University, I’ve wanted to give back to society. My father, Hayward Bryan, was an avid stockcar racing fan who lost his life to lung cancer. I am driving each lap in his honor and for the many who have also lost the race.

In an effort to raise funds to support these programs, I will be driving a stock car at Pocono Raceway’s 2.5-mile racetrack on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 10:30am. I invite you to become a sponsor and help us bring hope home to those families burdened by this dreaded disease called cancer.
